Duration: 4 Years                                                                             Start Date: September

This program prepares you to enter into the field of Aviation. Through the program, you will obtain your Private Pilot Licence, Commercial Pilot Licence, Multi-Engine Rating, Instrument Rating, and either an Instructor Rating or Heavy Jet option.

In the first phase of the program, you will gain your Private Pilot Licence by completing the Transport Canada written exam, PPAER.

During the second phase, you will complete the Transport Canada Commercial Pilot Licence written exam, CPAER, and during the third phase you will accumulate the required flight hours to complete the CPL Flight Test and receive your Commercial Pilot Licence by completing the Multi-Engine and Multi-Engine Instrument Ratings.

For the fourth phase, you will have two options, either the Flight Instructor Rating or the Heavy Jet option.

These courses are transferrable to The University of the Fraser Valley for credit for either the Bachelors of Business Administration Aviation or the Bachelors of General Studies Aviation.

  1. A minimum grade of a C+ in English 12, Math 12, and Physics 11.
  2. Current Transport Canada Category 1 Medical Certificate.
  3. Applicants will also have to complete an interview and a reference check.
  4. Students whose primary language is not English will need to complete a language assessment during the application process. If an applicant is not successful, they will have to take Coastal Pacific’s Aviation Communication course prior to the start of flight training.

  1. Upon completion of the program, you will have approximately 250 hours flight time logged. With that experience you could gain employment for corporate or charter airlines, as a flight instructor, medevac pilot or airline courier. Once you have gained more hours, you will be able to work for major airlines as captain or first officer.
