During this program, you will gain the knowledge necessary to complete the Transport Canada written exam, CPAER, and complete the required flight hours to hold a CPL.

You are required by Transport Canada to have 200 hours logged to be able to hold a Commercial Pilot Licence. This hours may be gained through completion of other ratings, such as Multi-Engine and Instrument Rating as well as the hours completed for the Private Pilot Licence.

  1. A minimum grade of a C+ in English 12, Math 12, and Physics 11.
  2. Applicants will have to have a valid Canadian Private Pilot Licence.
  3. Current Transport Canada Category 1 Medical Certificate.
  4. Applicants will also have to complete an interview and a reference check.
  5. Students whose primary language is not English will need to complete a language assessment during the application process. If an applicant is not successful, they will have to take Coastal Pacific’s Aviation Communication course prior to the start of flight training.

Upon completion of the program, you will have approximately 200 hours flight time logged. With that experience you could gain employment for corporate or charter airlines, as a flight instructor, medevac pilot or airline courier.

Once you have gained more hours, you will be able to work for major airlines as captain or first officer.
